ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Increased Legal Community Support
In 1998, when "and Justice for all" was established, only 5% of the Bar's membership donated funding to civil legal aid. Through the annual campaign, this amount increased to well over 30% in the first two years.

In 1998, the legal community in Utah provided less than $75,000 in support of civil legal aid programs. Support through the "and Justice for all" campaign has increased that amount to well over $400,000 a year.

Establishment of the Community Legal Center
The Community Legal Center is a project of "and Justice for all" to collocate Utah's primary providers of free civil legal aid in one building. Funded separately from the annual campaign, 3.6 million dollars were raised to purchase a 30,000 square feet building and create a centralized intake system.

Co-locating provides "one-stop" civil legal assistance for clients and allows agencies to save money by sharing resources and costs. As a result, more individuals can be served.

Statewide Planning Efforts
"and Justice for all" is now beginning to tackle the issue of statewide planning in conjunction with other service providers, the courts, the Utah State Bar, the legislature, law schools and other community stakeholders.
