Internet/Website Information and Free Legal Clinics
Statewide
This flyer contains
information about free legal clinics that are held throughout the state of
Utah. It also has some helpful Websites.
The clinics and the websites are designed to help low-income Utahns who
can not afford legal representation with advice and other general information.
Below is a list
of counties where clinics are currently being held to the best of our knowledge. If there are errors, please contact us at the
numbers below. The times and location of
the clinics are listed.
Note however, that many clinics will not be held on Legal Holidays and occasionally must be
re-scheduled. Therefore, it is strongly
recommended that you call prior to attending any of the clinics to verify
they are being held that day.

Online Court Assistance Program
The Utah Online Court Assistance Program (OCAP) is the
official State of Utah website for assistance in preparing court documents if
you are not able to have an attorney draft them for you. Documents can be prepared for divorce
(including stipulations), landlord tenant, guardianship of a minor, parentage, protective
orders and civil stalking. Not all
documents required for all types of court cases can be prepared using these
programs so please read the description of each document preparation program
carefully to be sure it addresses your needs. You may use this program for free. If you file documents created by the program
with the court, a $20.00 fee in addition to any court filing fees will be charged
at that time. This program is a service of the Utah Courts and State
Legislature. The program is found at www.utcourts.gov/ocap.
Utah State Court Forms
The
Utah Courts website has many helpful forms.
Examples include: Registration of
Adoption from a Foreign Country, Child Support Worksheets, Name Change, Small
Claims, Expungement, Waiver of Court Fees and many, many more. These forms can be found at www.utcourts.gov/resources/forms.
Utah
State Bar Referral Services
The
Utah State Bar in conjunction with LegalMatch
provides a free online service that can help you find an attorney in Utah. By providing information about you, your case,
requested attorney experience and more, the service will “match” you with
participating attorneys. Although the
referral service is free, the lawyer will charge you for his/her services. This service is found at http://utahbar.legalmatch.com. For individuals whose disability prevents
access to the internet, you may call 1-866-678-5342 for free assistance. Such individuals will need to have a valid
e-mail address or be willing to release personal information in order to be
contacted by potential attorneys. Individuals
without a disability may also use the call-in service, but there will be a
fee.
Utah Legal Services Website
This
Website is about ULS, and it has several features: i.e. About
us, Who qualifies, Services, Contact us, Links and Flyers that are available. This
site is found at www.andjusticeforall.org/uls.
